A human trafficking ring is using beachfront hotels as staging points. Cassie goes undercover as a high-end escort. Maddie follows a separate lead and discovers that Cassie’s real name is Lucia, daughter of a deceased cartel boss. Cassie admits she’s seeking revenge for her mother’s murder—but won’t say by whom. Rafe, caught between protecting Cassie and his loyalty to Maddie, sleeps with both women within two episodes (Ep 5 cliffhanger: Maddie catches them mid-act). The midseason finale ends with a shootout on a yacht, Cassie killing a trafficker but leaving evidence that implicates Maddie.

The final arc sees the cartel abduct Chief Graves. Cassie must choose between family loyalty (her uncle is the cartel leader) and her new life. Rafe and Maddie reluctantly team up. In Episode 11, a flashback episode reveals that Rafe and Maddie had a one-night stand years before the series began—a secret Maddie never told him. Cassie discovers this and uses it to drive them apart. The penultimate episode ends with a warehouse explosion: Rafe is presumed dead, Cassie is taken by the cartel, and Maddie is holding a smoking gun over a body.
