The indie horror and farming sim scene has a strange new guest on its creepy, overgrown lawn. The latest patch for the genre-bending title Haunted Acre , version 0.4.1 (nicknamed “Cosmo Pickle” by its developer), has just been released, and it’s already sowing chaos among its small but devoted fanbase.

Haunted Acre -v0.4.1- -Cosmo Pickle- is available now for Windows, Linux, and any toaster that runs Unity. Just don’t blame us if your hardware starts whispering about the harvest.

For the uninitiated, Haunted Acre tasks players with restoring a cursed, sentient plot of land. By day, you tend to ghostly crops (think glowing pumpkins and whispering wheat). By night, you defend your harvest from mischievous spirits, eldritch gophers, and the ever-looming dread of the “Mourning Wood.”

“I planted turnips, but the Cosmic Gherkin turned them into sad pickles that keep asking about my childhood fears,” one player wrote on the game’s Discord. “10/10, would feel existential dread again.”
