When you think of werewolf movies, your mind probably goes straight to the misty moors of England ( An American Werewolf in London ) or the dark forests of Germany ( Ginger Snaps ). You rarely think of Brazil. But director Paulo Leier’s 2020 film, Lobisomem (literally “Wolf-Man”), drags the ancient legend kicking and howling into the humid, dangerous heart of the Brazilian countryside.
