A buzzer. Harsh. The lights dim. The Golden Retriever yelps — a horrible, human-like cry. It collapses. Its legs twitch.

No face. No skull. Just a raw, wet cavity lined with small, human teeth. And inside that cavity, a single eye — wide, brown, terrified — looking out from the darkness of the throat.

"What does the good boy do, Thomas?"

"Come on, Thomas. Don't you want your puppy? Push another button. Be a good boy. "

The game begins.

Thomas doesn't move.
