Naruto: Path of the Ninja 3 (NDS) – In-Depth Review Developer: Tomy Publisher: D3 Publisher (US) / Tomy (JP) Release: 2008 (JP as Naruto RPG 3: Reijū vs. Konoha Shōtai ) / 2009 (NA) Genre: Turn-based RPG / Dungeon crawler Story & Setting (No Major Spoilers) Unlike the first two Path of the Ninja games (which loosely followed Part 1 of the anime), Path of the Ninja 3 is original – it takes place during the Naruto Shippuden era, but before major arcs like Hidan/Kakuzu or Pain. The plot revolves around a mysterious sealed beast called the Reijū (Spirit Beast) and a new rival ninja team from the Hidden Waterfall Village.

Look for used DS cartridges on eBay, Amazon Marketplace, or local retro game stores. The Japanese version ( Naruto RPG 3 ) is cheaper and has an English patch available (but patching requires technical steps and a ROM – again, only legal if you dump your own cartridge).
