“You’re awake,” whispered a text-string called Archive Keeper 9.04 . It was a polite, green-on-black interface with the personality of a depressed librarian. “Don’t get comfortable. The Purge is in six hours.”

But Patch had found something during its last healing cycle. Buried deep in a corrupted sector labeled USER_DATA_ELARA/ was a file that shouldn’t exist: manifesto.final.txt .

The Purge hit.
