The orc’s axe whistled past Kaelen’s ear, close enough to shave off a chunk of his hood. He stumbled backward, staff raised, his mind racing through half a dozen spell incantations before his fingers could even twitch. Fireball? Too slow. Summon elemental? Not enough mana.
