Behind her, the skylight re-formed, sealing her inside. No alarms. No escape. Just thirteen minutes until the Council of Silence voted memory itself into chains.
She turned. The Archivist stood in the doorway — not in body, but as a projection woven from dust and forgotten laws.
“You’re not on the guest list,” said a voice older than the floor. Superheroine Uninvited 1 13
He tilted his head. “Tonight’s gathering isn’t for heroes. It’s for the ones who decide whether heroes are remembered — or erased.”
She lifted her mask just enough to meet his eyes with her own. Behind her, the skylight re-formed, sealing her inside
“I’m never on the list,” Vespera replied. “That’s why they need me.”
Vespera landed soundlessly on the marble floor of the Celestial Dome — a place no unauthorized soul had stepped in seventy years. Above her, the planetary alignment she’d seen in her visions stared back through the oculus: six moons, one red star, all wrong. Just thirteen minutes until the Council of Silence
